Title click to read bill.
It would be nice if the New Mexico Game & Fish would refuse any federal funds stipulated for the Mexican Gray Wolf (or whatever flavor of surrogate hybrid wolf-dog they're releasing and calling it a Mexican Gray Wolf, or lobo, or wolfie, etc.).
From the bill:
"Section 2. DEFINITION.--As used in the Department of Game
and Fish Appropriation Act, "federal funds" means payments by
the United States government to state government or state
agencies, except those payments made in accordance with the
federal Mineral Leasing Act and the federal State and Local
Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972.
(2) Conservation services:
The purpose of the conservation services program is to provide
information and technical guidance to any person wishing to
conserve and enhance wildlife habitat and recover indigenous
species of threatened and endangered wildlife.
(3) Wildlife depredation and nuisance abatement:
The purpose of the wildlife depredation and nuisance abatement
program is to provide complaint administration and intervention
processes to private landowners, leaseholders and other New
Mexicans so they may be relieved of and precluded from property
damage, annoyance or risks to public safety caused by protected
wildlife.
