2010 Census is Different
The Census Bureau has changed the way it conducts the national count.
Goodbye Long Form
In the past, most households received a short-form questionnaire, while one household in six received a long form that contained additional questions and provided more detailed socioeconomic information about the population.
The 2010 Census will be a short-form only census and will count all residents living in the United States as well as ask for name, sex, age, date of birth, race, ethnicity, relationship and housing tenure – taking just minutes to complete.
The more detailed socioeconomic information is now collected through the American Community Survey. The survey provides current data about your community every year, rather than once every 10 years. It is sent to a small percentage of the population on a rotating basis throughout the decade. No household will receive the survey more often than once every five years.

The Oath of the President of the United States

Before he enter on the execution of his office, he shall take the following oath or affirmation: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

The case could be made that Obama has violated the oath of the office of the Presidency of the United States in not closing the borders at the threat of a global panemic of the Mexican flu, the violations of the U.S. Constitution in the CIFTA, and his refusal to clarify the circumstances of his birth. Think about it.

A Private and a Public Meeting with Congressman Teague

Subject: Re: HARRY TEAGUE'S VISIT 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM - THURSDAY, JULY 2ND., 2009 - COUNTY ADMIN BLDG.

My family and I were granted about a 2-3 minute audience with Congressman Teague yesterday. In response to my question of how he could have possibly voted for the "Cap & Trade" bill that would increase taxes on us all, and cripple this economy he stated, and I paraphrase..."When I got to Washington I thought we would actually have debates on things like global warming...but that train has left the station 4-5 years ago and I could have wasted my vote trying to turn it back. I voted for it because I got some concessions for New Mexico's small oil and gas producers." I asked him what ever happened to standing on principle. I reminded him that this disasterous bill only passed by 6-7 votes and if a few more representatives along with himself had stood on principle this bill could have been defeated. He had no response..he only stared at us without saying a word. I left with a request that he read the 10th Amendment to the Constitution before he votes on anything else.

Hi Folk's. Just a short note to let those of you who couldn't make it to the "Meet & Greet" what a joke it was. Due to traffic conditions on the Mtn, ( Rock Clearance at Bailey Cyn) I arrived at 5 mins to 1:00 pm, ( expecting to be turned away). Surprisingly, Teague's aid allowed me to stand at the end of the line( 4-5 remaining people). Everyone in front of me was "T-ed Off" and grumbling about "Cap & Trade" and Health Care . Each person was allowed 1 min. to talk to Mr. Teague, ( wow how nice ).
When it came to me, I simply told him I felt strongly that he screwed up by voting for the Cap & Trade Bill' without reading it and reminded him of his conversation with my wife when he visited Cloudcroft a couple of months ago. When she asked him about Cap & Trade" he replied "I don't even want to got there it gives me heart burn". ( So he voted for it anyhow?) I also advised him that my wife & I would be really working hard to defeat him when his term was up. He just stood there with a blank expression on his face and never responded.
As I was sitting in my car outside the Co. Office Bldg, He and his "Flunky" exited the Bldg and I noticed they were Talking & laughing Broadly with each other. Apparently he wasn't all that bothered by the citizen responses to his "Meet & Greet"!! I venture to guess Steve Pearce would not have acted in that manner.
My take on Teague is he is a one issue guy, ( Veterans Affairs) which is an easy one to make him look good for his constituents. Do not get me wrong, I support our Vets whole heartedly, and realize they need all the help they can get when dealing with the V.A.. I just have the impression Teague is a "One Trick Pony".

The Supremacy Clause is very specific as to what it says.
“This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof, and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land, and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”

To fully understand exactly what this means you have to go to Webster’s Dictionary 1828 for the definition of, “notwithstanding.”

NOTWITHSTAND'ING, the participle of withstand, with not prefixed, and signifying not opposing; nevertheless. It retains in all cases its participial signification.

PUBLIC LANDS v. FEDERAL LANDS

There is a very strong misconception that all of the lands in the United States that are managed by the Federal Government are “Public Lands”.
Actually there are very few Public Lands and the vast majority of lands managed by the Federal Government are “Federal Lands”.
“The term public lands, as commonly perceived by the public, indicates lands owned entirely by the federal government and by extension of the citizens of the United States who supposedly own equal shares of the federal government’s assets. Certain federal lands do meet this criterion such as some portions of our national parks and some portions of some game refuges. These are areas where the federal government owns all of the values of the land. However, even in national parks private concessioners own a possessory interest in their visitor facilities that is fully protected by the Concession Policy Act of 1965.
However, the vast majority of our federal lands do not meet the criterion of total ownership in fee. Most of our federal lands, particularly those under the management of the Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service, are split estate lands. Lands in this category constitute nearly one third of the land area of he United States.
The federal land management agencies have for the past two decades followed a policy of attempting to deny the existence of private rights in the federal lands. They have attempted to eliminate private rights by one device or another, the establishment of wilderness areas, the protection of wild horses and burros, and the creation on many other special designations that appeal to “the public good” but in fact act to destroy existing private rights. The agencies have attempted to encumber private rights in the federal lands with an overkill of regulations. This attempt to render existing private rights uneconomic has for all practical purposes become the major focus of current federal land policy.”

NM game director's hunting license may be revoked The head of New Mexico's Game and Fish Department could lose his hunting license for two years after he was accused of illegally shooting a deer on private land. An independent hearing officer heard testimony Monday about a November 2007 incident in which director Bruce Thompson shot a deer on the Diamond T Ranch west of Roswell. It's illegal to hunt on private property in New Mexico without permission from the landowner. The state Game Commission, which has the final say, will likely consider the hearing officer's recommendation at its Oct. 2 meeting....Let's transfer more assets to him too.

NM Game & Fish Director Gets Hunting License Revoked for Two Years

The New Mexico Game Commission on Thursday revoked state Game and Fish Department director Bruce Thompson's hunting privileges for two years, the result of Thompson's shooting a deer on private property nearly a year ago in Lincoln County. Thompson, who has headed Game and Fish since 2003, maintained that he inadvertently used incorrect Global Positioning System coordinates that put him on the privately owned Diamond T Ranch instead of adjacent public land. LAS CRUCES, N.M.—State and federal officials are considering changes to a controversial rule that requires a Mexican gray wolf to be removed from the wild if it preys on livestock three times in a one-year period.
Gov. Bill Richardson has called for the suspension of the rule, known as Standard Operation Procedure 13, to halt the removal of wolves, which numbered about 52 at the end of 2007. Removal can be either by capturing or killing the wolf.
The proposed policy change attempts to address a scenario in which a rancher might intentionally lure a wolf to attack cattle and force its removal, said Terry Johnson, endangered species coordinator for the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

USDA Issues Memo Mandating NAIS Premises Registration

A new memo out of USDA shows they are pushing ahead with NAIS despite the public protests and even state laws barring mandatory programs.
USDA recently issued a memo to its "Veterinary Services Management Team" that requires NAIS premises registration for various disease program activities. The memo includes activities such as vaccinations, testing, and applying official ear tags, for programs for every livestock species, ranging from brucellosis to scrapies to equine infectious anemia. The memo says that people who refuse to have their farms registered will be registered against their will. Thus, USDA has officially abandoned the supposed "voluntary" nature of NAIS. Now animal owners who take government-required steps such as testing and vaccinating their animals may find themselves enrolled in the NAIS premises registration database with or without their consent.

For the past 20 years, corporations have been receiving huge tax breaks and subsidies in the name of "jobs, jobs, jobs." But, as Greg LeRoy demonstrates in this important new book, it's become a costly scam.

County vows to fight Forest Service over roads

Otero County plans to take on the Forest Service regarding road access under the Revised Statute 2477, a provision in the 1866 Mining Law that states any road under county jurisdiction, regardless of when that jurisdiction was established, supersedes any subsequent jurisdiction claimed the any other entity, including the Forest Service.
In a discussion at its work session Wednesday, the Otero County Commission expressed its intent to take on the Forest Service regarding roads in the Lincoln Nation Forrest.
“We want to stop the closure of any roads and trails by the Forest Service,” said Commission Chairman Doug Moore. “If they want to challenge any of the roads we claim under R.S. 2477, we’ll duke it out in court.”
“If we have to list every goat trail, butterfly path, and meteor pathway, we will,” Commissioner Clarissa McGinn said. “We want a preemptive action to keep these closures from happening. These closures are going to take place very soon if we don’t stop this.”
Moore said that Forest Service plan is to close nearly half the roads and trails in the Lincoln Nation National Forest.
“Give me some language that will stop us from losing any of the roads and trails we want to keep open for the use and enjoyments of our citizens, “ Moore said. “The cat fight will be on. We intend to pass it on Thursday.”
Otero County Administrator Dr. Martin Moore told Doug Moore that R.S. 2477 reads still owned by the county will include ones that were grandfathered in prior to the 1956 as well as those that existed prior to 1976.
Two large maps were used as references during the meeting. The maps showed all roads with R.S. 2477 status claimed by the county prior to each respective date.
“I want a map combining the two,” McGinn said. “I then want to claim anything on that map that is ours. It needs to be encompassing enough to include all roads, trails, pathways, mines and anything else.”
Doug Moore said GPS coordinates will have to be utilized in the final process.
“A road does not even have to be one that still exists in order to qualify,” he said. “It could be nothing now but a jeep trail or a footpath. Were laying claim to all that is ours, and we’re keeping them open for everyone to enjoy. “We will make this official at our regular meeting on Thursday.”

U.S. CONSTITUTION

Article. II. - The Executive Branch Note

Section 1 - The President Note1 Note2

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice-President chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

(The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not lie an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such Majority, and have an equal Number of Votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately chuse by Ballot one of them for President; and if no Person have a Majority, then from the five highest on the List the said House shall in like Manner chuse the President. But in chusing the President, the Votes shall be taken by States, the Representation from each State having one Vote; a quorum for this Purpose shall consist of a Member or Members from two-thirds of the States, and a Majority of all the States shall be necessary to a Choice. In every Case, after the Choice of the President, the Person having the greatest Number of Votes of the Electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal Votes, the Senate shall chuse from them by Ballot the Vice-President.) (This clause in parentheses was superseded by the 12th Amendment.)

The Congress may determine the Time of chusing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

(In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by Law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected.) (This clause in parentheses has been modified by the 20th and 25th Amendments.)

The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Hi Janet:
Thanks for your email. I
know Michael Nivision is leaving for DC today and will not be at the commission
meeting tomorrow night to report on the Dry Canyon issue raised at the last
meeting. I have directed staff to get any and all information regarding this and
will forward what I find to you.
On the World Heritage discussion from last meeting:
I went back and looked at the minutes from the initial direction to
staff dated Jan.24th regular meeting. There is a lengthly discussion regarding
the letter to be sent to the Secy of the Interior as well as some other
information and actions that will be taken. Per the legal explanation in the
minutes, Dan stated that the US has a seat on the Board from 2005-09. During
this time frame, no country seated on the UN board may receive the formal
nomination for designation. By expiration of that board seat in Oct 09- the
County will formally contact NPS regarding this ordinance and prior ordinances
requiring participation and notification of any nominations, identify the
personnel connected with the international affairs group working on the
nominations, site violations of the people identified with the nomination and
violations of NEPA and all 4 ordinances. We have sent a letter regarding
opposition to the World Heritage Designation/and tentative list. Although there
is time involved to take action on all these suggested actions, we need to keep
it rolling. I will make sure this is on our projects in progress so that it is
continually followed and updated.

Hope there is a good showing for
the tax hearing. I dont believe there will be action with just Doug and I there
tomorrow. I understand the spaceport authority is interested in polling the
community to gage support on the issue prior to a ballot question. I could go
on.

I let you know any other information I find on these 2 issues
that you have requested.

be used for landscaping at the new building and at some campgrounds. They will
make sure none are blocking road access.

New York Times, July 15, 2008, Expert Hired at Ground Zero Despite '05 Ethics Violation
The Port Authority has named an engineering consultant to the World Trade Center project who resigned from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority three years ago over his dealings with an architectural firm that also plays an important role at ground zero.
The engineer, Joseph N. Siano, is to be a consultant to the chief of capital planning, David Tweedy. In describing his new job, the authority said Mr. Siano ''will focus on engineering analyses required to advance'' the trade center and other projects.
Until April 2005, Mr. Siano was a senior vice president at M.T.A. Capital Construction, which manages major building projects. In a proceeding before the state's Ethics Commission, he admitted violating the law by having accepted gifts from the architectural firm DMJM Harris (now DMJM H&N/Aecom), which was doing business with the transportation authority.

Of the four US civil spaceports licensed by the FAA, three have launched commercial payloads: Spaceport Florida, California Spaceport, and the Kodiak Launch Complex (KLC) in Alaska. The fourth spaceport is the Virginia Space Flight Center (VSFC) in Wallops Island, Virginia. Despite this encouraging start, the FAA Office of Commercial Space Development estimates that in the next decade, an annual average of 46 commercial payloads will be flown on 32
launches worldwide.6 This is not nearly enough demand to profitably support current US civil spaceports, let alone new spaceports."

Turns out that DMJM - Daniel, Mann, Johnson, & Mendenhall (architecture, engineering, and construction services firm) is a global firm headquartered in Los Angeles. Mr. Landeene said he did not know where their headquarters are - who believed that whopper?

DMJM will be awarding the contracts for construction and probably the management of the spaceport. Let's take a look at who DMJM contracts with and you decide if any contractor or business in Southern New Mexico has a snowball's chance of participating in NM Spaceport:

If the Spaceport gets voted in by Otero County Republicans and other registered electors, I'm betting at some point we will be asked to pay for our carbon 'sins' by paying or buying carbon offsets from the next 'green' huckster that has their environmentally friendly hand out.
