The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. ORF poses the question: Is SMART GRID a violation of the Fourth Amendment? Does a global computer network that actively scans your person, houses, papers or personal documents or drivers licenses and property constitute an unreasonable search or an illegal search? Did you give up your Fourth Amendment right upon purchasing an item with a Smart Grid chip in it and willingly took the item into your home?
