About 30 people attended the Wolf Awareness Meeting in Weed last night. Catron County Wolf Incident Investigator, Jess Carey, spoke of that county's experience with wolf reintroduction and dealing with federal agencies administering the program. Carey showed the audience very graphic slides of livestock and family pets killed and mutilated by wolves. Professors Thal, Smallidge, and some other guy whose name escapes me, presented from the university in Las Cruces. Residents asked several questions of the presenters. The majority of questions were answered with 'I don't have an answer for that'. I got restless and started fidgeting so Janet White, ORF crack investigative reporter, and my wife, Trish, made me go sit in the car. Dr. Martin Moore, candidate for 3rd District County Commissioner was at the meeting. None of the other guys running for that seat cared enough to show up. Bunch of sissies. We ate at the Weed Cafe, before the meeting. Great chow. I give the Weed Cafe 5 stars.
