I realize that when many individuals learn that this old farm boy has a degree in engineering they can hardly believe it, but I have a piece of paper that states that I am a genuine NM Aggie.
Long days, short nights and a wee bit of luck.
I have always liked agriculture, but when I was a young man, there were very few economic opportunities in agriculture.
My mother was a strong advocate of education and not only encouraged me to attend college, but to enroll in engineering because I had a knack for math and science, that is until I enrolled in calculus and engineering physics.
(It is a very interesting story how my Mother was able to obtain her high school education, but for another time)
I worked in the engineering testing business for approximately 30 years before retiring from the rats race and returning to the scene of my childhood her at Mayhill NM.
I am aware of a number of different engineering tests where the test parameters and/or data were manipulated to obtain the desired results.
The manipulators didn't exactly lie, but they didn't tell the entire truth either.
Therefore, I have always been skeptical of polls.
One can get nearly any results that they desire from a poll.
It is how the questions are phrased and to whom are they asked.
The same with these wolf polls.
Dollars to donuts that the vast majority of the people being asked live in cities, know nothing about wolves except they are the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Ask the majority of people who live in the wolf recovery areas, that are trying to survive in the livestock business about wolves, and I am positive that 99.999% have no use for wolves that are being crammed down their throats by the animal rights extremist and the federal government.
In fact I am almost positive that you will agree that the entire Endangered Species Act concept is an honorable one, but the practical application has been a disaster with extremely limited successes and a tremendous and escalating cost to us taxpayers.
More later about this ESA nonsense.
