On the Peter Boyles Show/KHOW this morning, organizers from the protest group 'COME UP TO DENVER', took heat from callers who were angry the group had invited war protesters to camp in the mountains, west of Denver, on private property. A local volunteer fireman from one of the mountain communities called in to express concerns of an influx of protesters camping in the mountains. The volunteer fireman confronted the anti-war organization about large groups of people camping in the mountains who are unfamiliar with the hazard of fire and concentrations of large groups on private property. One of the organizers answered that they and their guests were very environmentally conscience and aware of the fire danger. Counter-culture groups and protest groups claim some environmental moral higher ground to justify their illegal presence on forest land or disobeying city ordinances. The current pop-environmental sin is the carbon footprint. Apparently the protesters coming to Denver for the August Democratic National Convention are forgiven of this eco-sin. Consider their fuel consumption to Colorado and the commute from mountain communities to the protest during the DNC.

'I AM THE MOTHER THE OF THE 1ST NAVY SEAL KILLED...'
----------From: Debbie Lee - Move America Forward

Subject: Join me on a trip to Berkeley, CA
To: Wbigstaf@gmail.com
To my fellow Americans: As many of you know, I am the mother of the 1st Navy Seal who waskilled in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I've dedicated my life to givingvoice to my fallen hero, Marc Alan Lee, and all those who have served,or are currently serving, in the United States military - so that wemay remain a safe and free nation. You can't begin to imagine how horrified and angered I was when Ilearned that the Berkeley City Council had passed three measures thatattacked our troops, and called our military men and women,"uninvited" and "unwelcome intruders" in their own country. For the past few years I had to hear from anti-war liberals about howterrible it was for our troops to be in Iraq or Afghanistan. Now the anti-military radicals have convinced an American governmentbody to say that our troops don't belong here in America. So I was more than committed to take action to fight back, but even Iwasn't prepared for what would happen next when I watched Code Pinkanti-war protestors defacing the U.S. Marine Recruiting Center inBerkeley, then barricading the entry and harassing those who attemptedto enter. What shocked and saddened me most was to see the BerkeleyPolice Department officers stand there and do nothing. They said theywere "trying to remain neutral." We cannot stand for this insanity any longer, my friends. I have just returned from Iraq and have been with these amazing menand women and seen the progress they are making for our nation in theWar on Terror. I cannot sit back quietly after seeing the greatnessof our troops and allow them to be insulted and attacked in their ownnation. They deserve so much more, and I will fight with every lastbreath in my body to make sure these heroes are properly honored andrespected. That is why it is time for us to take action to fight back - to fightin honor of our troops, and to stand in solidarity with them at thevery location where they are being insulted and defamed. So next Tuesday, February 12th I will stand in front of the BerkeleyCity Council Chambers (located at 2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way inBerkeley, CA) from 5:00 AM until the City Council meets that eveningat 7:00 PM. I will demand that the City Council rescind their three anti-militaryresolutions and issue a formal apology to all U.S. military servicemen and women in general, and the United States Marine Corps inparticular. I am asking you to stand with me on this day, as I would greatlywelcome the company and the moral support. And I would also like toshow the media and the Berkeley City Council that I am not the onlyone who feels this way. Last October, when Code Pink first vandalized the U.S. MarineRecruiting Center in Berkeley, Move America Forward organized a rallywhere hundreds upon hundreds of people showed up with their Americanflags. But the sins against our troops are much greater this time - we cannever stand for an American government body to attack our troops andcall on the public not to cooperate with them. So let us have a giant turnout on this day. If you cannot join me forthis all-day vigil, then please be there at least by 5:00 PM (so youcan secure a seat for the 7:00 PM City Council meeting). All the information you need about this protest/demonstration can befound at the Move America Forward homepage:http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org Finally, I ask you to make a modest donation to support our efforts atMove America Forward so we can continue to spread the word about thisevent.
