I was at the county fair this weekend. I stopped by the Spaceport booth and visited a guy handing out brochures and hawking the regional benefits of space tourism. Did you know the spacecraft essentially go up, leave the stratosphere for about 15 minutes and come right back down? yeah...its a ride. The spacecraft don't blast off from a gantry. These aren't rockets. You knew that. There will be no aopgee or ipogee orbits. Just up and down. And all for about $100,000.00 per passenger. Now you may ask...who has that kind of money. I'm just speculating...but read the following two posts about major development on the doorstep of Yellowstone National Park. People who can afford to live within a 13,000 private development, complete with private ski runs and golf courses right next door to America's first national park, will be the passengers in this space ride.
Yep...the rich and opulent who MAY contribute to environmental fraud and the cleansing of rural America, are insulated in their own compound in the Rockies of Montana. These fortunate individual are the passengers the rest of us hayseeds will be subsidizing at the Spaceport. I have to ask...what does Alamogordo have that will attract the space tourist?
