From the SPORTING NEWS, May 12, 2008:
"These days, whenever I watch NASCAR races, the price of gasoline causes me to swoon and be envious of the endless miles and frequent fill-ups the cars and trucks are privy to during periods of practice, qualifying and competition. Those SUNOCO pumps are bottomless wells of freeflowing liquid gold. Don't forget, also, the gasoline absorbed by the haulers, motorhomes, safety vehicles, food service, sponsor, souvenir and media trucks, and other forms of transportation used in association with the production of races and race programs. The amount of money spent on fuel must be astronomical!"
