Spitzer Is One of Clinton's Super Delegates
(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Hillary Clinton, who has firsthand experience at being the wronged and publicly humiliated wife, had no immediate comment on Gov. Eliot Spitzer's link to a prostitution ring. Further complicating things for Clinton, Spitzer has endorsed her presidential bid and is one of her "super delegates." "Right now I don't have any comment, and I think it's appropriate just to wish his family well, and we'll wait and see how things develop," Clinton told reporters on Monday. Spitzer apologized -- not for anything specific -- on Monday, saying, "I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family and violates my -- or any -- sense of right and wrong. I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself," he said. "I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family." There is widespread speculation that Spitzer will be forced to resign in disgrace, but Sen. Clinton refused any comment on that. President Bill Clinton survived the scandal that engulfed him after he lied under oath about his sexual affair with Monica Lewinsky.
