Sacrifice We Can Believe In

Recall Michelle Obama on the campaign trail back in February telling us we must “be ready to shed our cynicism” and ”roll up our sleeves” and work for the common good. “Our greatest challenge is that we have a mutual obligation to one another… We have lost sight of that because we haven’t had leadership that has asked us to sacrifice and compromise for one another.” Barack Obama has just under two months to go before he fills his leadership role and yet he is already making good on his wife’s call for compromise and sacrifice. “To make the investments we need, we’ll have to scour our federal budget, line by line, and make meaningful cuts and sacrifices as well — something I’ll be discussing further tomorrow,” Obama said from a Chicago hotel yesterday.

Sacrifice for you and me, of course, not for Obama or Hank Paulson and not for their bosses.

In order for Obama to “jolt” the economy out of its engineered downturn, “he will be a careful custodian of the budget, eliminating wasteful spending such as federal crop subsidies for millionaire farmers,” according to the Los Angeles Times. But it will not be “millionaire farmers,” that is to say transnational agribusiness corporations, that will feel the pinch. It will be the little people.

Obama “will need to squarely confront the whopping chunk of the budget that got little attention in the news conference: massive entitlement programs covering Social Security and healthcare,” the Times continues. “Experts say that to make a serious dent in the $3-trillion federal budget, he will need to target Social Security and healthcare entitlements, which account for 54%. Such a move would be risky.”

“Gird your loins,” said Joe Biden in October. “This president, the next president, is gonna be left with the most significant task. It’s like cleaning the Augean stables, man. This is more than just, this is more than – think about it, literally, think about it – this is more than just a capital crisis, this is more than just markets. This is a systemic problem we have with this economy.”

It’s a systemic “problem” created by the bankers and the global elite, not grandma cashing her Social Security check. It’s all about crashing the economy and sweeping the financial game board clean so the banksters can impose a global cashless economic system of total control on the plebs, who will beg to be slaves after weathering the storm coming up.

It is no mistake the housing crisis spread to the financial markets. It was designed to take down the economy. “The current Globalist Financial Crisis is a Financial False Flag operation,” notes Alfred Lambremont Webre. “It is a controlled collapse of the globalist economic system, engineered by an international war crimes racketeering organization.” It was “designed to accelerate the deterioration of First World economies, democracies, and prosperity.”

Obama’s Transition Economic Advisory Board is run by Larry Summers, the Clinton era economist who played an important role in the financial false flag operation. Summers supported the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, which allowed many derivatives to go unregulated. “The policies he promoted as Treasury Secretary and in his subsequent writings led to the economic disaster that we now face,” wrote economist Dean Baker. J.P. Morgan and crew invented credit derivatives as a way to blow holes in the economy and take it to the bottom.

In normal times, Larry Summers would be indicted, arrested, convicted, and sent to prison in an orange jumpsuit. Instead, he is picking Obama’s “economic dream team,” consisting primarily as CFR insiders and former Goldman Sachs functionaries from the Federal Reserve and the Treasury.

Sacrifice the little people. It has nothing to do with fixing the economy. It’s all about further impoverishing the middle class. Obama will not stick it to mythical millionaire farmers. He works for the ga-zillionaire globalists who are on a timeline to install a high-tech New World Order economic system and control grid. In order to sell it more effectively, Obama will unleash class warfare. It’s a tested gimmick that works every time.

This nation was founded upon the principles of freedom set forth in the Declaration of Independence and enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.  Even then, a significant number of people believed this form of government was wrong, that society would be better served by a government with unlimited power to impose whatever restrictions and regulations the government deemed best to serve the public. Governments structured to impose unlimited power have been described by many different names, but all such governments fit nicely under the description of “collectivist” government.  Americans who subscribe to this form of government held little sway in public policy until Woodrow Wilson, who nearly convinced Congress to yield the nation’s sovereignty to the League of Nations.  Wilson’s protégé, Franklin D. Roosevelt, raised the collectivist torch again when Americans clamored for any “change” from the devastating depression that followed the market crash in 1929.  Roosevelt was a collectivist who brought change:  he created the United Nations.  Since Roosevelt, collectivists have marched steadily toward domination of public policy, with only a few minor speed-bumps imposed by leaders who reject the collectivist vision. It is abundantly clear that collectivism is the dominant belief system of the Democrat Party as well as many in the Republican Party.  Since the Reagan era, both parties have ignored the principles of freedom and marched steadily toward an omnipotent collectivist government.  The election of Barack Obama is clear evidence that the “collectivist” America has taken charge.  The few people who remain in power who still subscribe to the principles of freedom no longer constitute even a speed-bump, but are seen by the majority only as an out-of-touch nuisance to be ridiculed and replaced. What then, is the other America to do?  The out-of-power America that cherishes the freedom, so eloquently described in America’s founding documents, is the only hope for freedom’s future.  How will this America survive? Unlike unlimited government power, freedom cannot be imposed; it can only be shared.  Moreover, it cannot be shared by institutions; it can only be shared by individuals.  Institutions can defend freedom.  Institutions can facilitate freedom, but freedom can only be shared by individuals.  Light from a single candle, when shared with another, and another, and another, can grow to light a room, a home, or even a nation. Free America will dominate public policy again only when those who are now “out-of-touch” share their freedom with a sufficient number of others to, once again, light the way for future generations.  The “out-of-power” America is regrouping.  Bound by a firm belief in the principles of freedom, people are organizing in their local communities to educate their neighbors, and to convince their elected representatives to reject policies that impose collectivism.   The “out-of-power” America is, by no means, powerless.  Modern technology allows individuals to share their freedom instantly from one end of the nation to the other, and to focus the light of their wisdom into a laser beam that can penetrate the fallacy of collectivism. Individuals who may well be “out-of-touch” with the current collectivist majority in Washington are in-touch with each other, forming organizations, and coalitions of organizations to build a new appreciation for the principles of freedom among a generation raised on a diet of collectivism.  The “out-of-power” America realizes the magnitude of its task.  Collectivism will not be reversed by the next election, or the next, or the next.  Collectivism can only be reversed when individuals assume their personal responsibility to share their freedom by engaging their family, friends and neighbors, and providing them with compelling evidence that the principles of freedom offer a better future than a life managed by a collectivist government. The “out-of-power” America can regain dominance by regaining control of city councils, local school boards, county commissions, and state legislatures.  Individuals, combining their efforts through local organizations, can exert extraordinary influence on public policy.  Local organizations, coordinating their efforts across a state, can transform state legislatures.  Coalitions of organizations, directing their efforts in a national effort, can replace a collectivist government in Washington.  Quietly, across the land, thousands of individuals are sharing their freedom by joining or creating local organizations.  These organizations are finding each other and working with national coalitions to advance the principles of freedom throughout the 21st century.  Among these groups there is determination to dislodge collectivism from its seat of power and restore the principles of freedom as the foundation of all public policy at every level of government.  Henry is the executive vice president of the Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO), and chairman of Sovereignty International. "We need to make sure that everyone who is eligible to vote, has the best opportunity to vote," Governor Richardson said in a news release. "New Mexico has seen great success-in both increased voter confidence and participation-with those election reforms we've already enacted, particularly paper ballots. Election Day registration will further strengthen voting in New Mexico by making it easier and more accessible to our citizens."

More clues from the radio news about the way we are now: I learned the other day that President-elect Obama is “tackling the economy.” But I thought the economy was already bruised and down? What good will tackling it do?

What is the Obama administration going to do with those of us who just don’t want to “come together”?

If the Republicans had any flair (and any knowledge of history) they would point out that their party had the first black president. A good case can be made that Warren G. Harding had almost as much African “heritage” as Obama.

I admit to extreme annoyance at people who voted for George Bush the first time (and even twice) because, they claim, they were fooled into thinking he was a “conservative.” The only fooling going on was unforgivable self-delusion. George Bush had not a single conservative in his entourage or among his friends, advisors, or mentors. He had purged all conservatives from the Texas Republican Party and replaced them with his personal apparatchiks. He was a notorious friend of illegal aliens and as Governor had pushed through a law giving illegals free access to state colleges. A major plank of his platform was the federal takeover of public schools and the federal invasion of religion by grants. He prevented Pat Buchanan from speaking at HIS convention. All of this was glaringly and painfully obvious in 2000.

Of course, you will say that in a presidential “debate” Bush advocated a “humble foreign policy.” When did something a Bush says in a campaign have any relation to what he does in office? Bush’s leftward drift, takeover by the neocons, and huge expansion of federal power and expenditure would have happened even without 9/11. There was no great change or conversion after 9/11—only an acceleration on the path he was already on. To move toward a leftist concentration of federal power is the attractive path of least resistance for any administration.

I am further continually astounded by the apparently widespread hallucination that the Republican Party is the “conservative” party. In its entire history of a century and a half, the Republican Party has never conserved anything. It has never had as a goal the intention of conserving anything worthwhile. It has instigated revolution in the service of certain monied interests and has acquiesced in every radical change as long as those interests were not threatened.

It is now a commonplace to say of our past eight years that “conservatism” has been discredited forever by George W. Bush and his followers. Conservatism has not been discredited, but Republicanism has. However, leftists much prefer to announce the death of conservatism, a possible obstacle to their agenda, and keep around Republicanism—one of their many assets. Clyde N. Broadcasting “Localism Rules” Worse than the Fairness Doctrine

Talk radio stations, according to New Mexico sentaor Jeff Bingaman, "can do whatever they want," an apparent reversal of his earlier comments in favor of the Fairness Doctrine.

It appears New Mexico senator Jeff Bingaman is backing away from earlier comments regarding the Fairness Doctrine. Bingaman was asked by CNS News if he would impose the doctrine on AM radio stations WMAL and WTNT in Washington, D.C. and he said he would not. “They can do whatever they want,” he said. In October, Bingaman expressed his support for the Fairness Doctrine during an interview with AM KKOB in Albuquerque. “I would want this station and all stations to have to present a balanced perspective and different points of view instead of always hammering away at one side of the political (spectrum),” Bingaman said.

Since Bingaman’s comments and those of New York senator Charles Schumer, a grassroots effort to oppose the reinstallation of the Fairness Doctrine under an Obama administration and Democrat controlled Congress has emerged.

If the FCC has its way, however, talk radio stations may not “do whatever they want,” as Bingaman suggests.

According to the D.C. Examiner, the Federal Communications Commission is considering the “localism rule” and this regulation would have basically the same First Amendment chilling effect as the Fairness Doctrine. Under the FCC’s proposed regulations, owners of radio and TV stations would be subject to permanent advisory boards. These advisory boards, according to the D.C. Examiner

would be chosen according to politically correct multi-cultural nostrums requiring representation of all “stakeholders.” These boards would be empowered by the FCC to decide if stations were airing a “sufficient amount of community-responsive programming”– with neither “sufficient” nor “responsive” defined. A negative advisory board finding could mean loss of a station owner’s broadcasting license.

“If this proposed regulation is adopted, political activists with ideological agendas on advisory boards will be able to dictate content by producing allies to complain that their interests are not being considered,” warns the Examiner.

In addition, the proposed FCC rules would also require broadcasters to maintain a 24/7 physical presence at broadcasting facilities, limit their use of celebrity “voice tracking” and network programming, require them to fund journalism schools, and give their music playlists (and likely guest lists) to the FCC. In short, the operating costs of stations would escalate significantly. “Experts warn that such rules will kill talk radio – one of the few mass media that favors conservatives,” notes the D.C. Examiner.

The rules, if adopted, would kill smaller, independent radio stations while allowing corporate radio stations and networks with larger budgets to continue operations.

Obama may oppose the Fairness Doctrine but this may not prevent the new Democrat ruled Congress from allowing the FCC to impose restrictive rules by fiat. In a June letter to FCC chairman Kevin Martin, House Minority Leader John Boehner charged the FCC with a “stealth enactment of the Fairness Doctrine,” arguing that “the recreation of pre-1980s advisory boards will place broadcast media squarely on a path toward rationed speech.” posted on ORF by karan berry

In addition there are at least 4 lawsuits against Eclipse for non-payment of goods already delivered.

The State invested $19 Million in Eclipse and it appears from the article that this investment will go down a rat hole.

Very interesting and another valid reason why any government should not invest in any private enterprise.

Essentially: the Federal Government has 'loaned' 2 trillion dollars to the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve is not part of the Federal Government. The FR is a membership of mega-banks.

This 2 trillion dollars does not exist and no callateral was put up for this loan. What this will do is double the money supply in the U.S. This will devalue the dollar and we, the tax payer and consumer, will pay more for everything. The Federal Reserve banks, 12 of them, are private banks, while the Federal Reserve Board is a 'public entity', registered in New York State. If you ask an elected official if the Federal Reserve is part of the government, they will probably tell you 'yes', as the Federal Reserve Board is composed of elected members, registered as a public entity in a sovereign state of the United States. Confusing? Yes.

Bloomberg is suing the FR to reveal where this money went. Remember, the U.S. is the 'reserve currency' of the world. What does that mean? Other currencies are rated in value agains the U.S. dollar. oh oh....

AND all this happening on BUSH'S WATCH! Nice touch W. This is what Obama and his globalist uber-liberal cabinet will inherit.

What's next? A North American Regional Currency that allows the smoothing out of financial wrinkles in North American that will erase debt (your mortage arrears, your credit card debt) by lowering your ability to buy, save, and compete.

Franklin Bank, a Houston, Texas-based bank and Security Pacific Bank, a Los Angeles, Calif.-based bank were shut down by state regulators Friday, marking the 18th and 19th bank failures this year.

With the implementation of Tehcir law, the confiscation of Armenian property and the slaughter of Armenians that ensued upon the law's enactment outraged much of the western world. While the Ottoman Empire's wartime allies offered little protest, a wealth of German andAustrian historical documents has since come to attest to the witnesses' horror at the killings and mass starvation of Armenians.^[42][43][44]In the United States, The New York Times reported almost daily on the mass murder of the Armenian people, describing the process as "systematic", "authorized" and "organized by the government." Theodore Roosevelt would later characterize this as "the greatest crime of the war."^[45]

The Armenians were marched out to the Syrian town of Deir ez-Zor and the surrounding desert. A good deal of evidence suggests that the Ottoman government did not provide any facilities or supplies to sustain the Armenians during their deportation, nor when they arrived.^[46]By August 1915, The New York Times repeated an unattributed report that "the roads and the Euphrates are strewn with corpses of exiles, and those who survive are doomed to certain death. It is a plan to exterminate the whole Armenian people."^[47]

Ottoman troops escorting the Armenians not only allowed others to rob, kill, and rape the Armenians, but often participated in these activities themselves.^[46] Deprived of their belongings and marched into the desert, hundreds of thousands of Armenians perished.

The Crash of 2008, which is now wiping out trillions of dollars of our people's wealth, is, like the Crash of 1929, likely to mark the end of one era and the onset of another. The new era will see a more sober and much diminished America . The 'Omnipower' and 'Indispensable Nation' we heard about in all the hubris and braggadocio following our Cold War victory is history. Seizing on the crisis, the left says we are witnessing the failure of market economics, a failure of conservatism. This is nonsense. What we are witnessing is the collapse of Gordon Gecko ('Greed Is Good!') capitalism. What we are witnessing is what happens to a prodigal nation that ignores history, and forgets and abandons the philosophy and principles that made it great. A true conservative (Rep or Dem) cherishes prudence and believes in fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets and a self-reliant republic. He believes in saving for retirement and a rainy day, in deferred gratification, in not buying on credit what you cannot afford, in living within your means. Is that really what got Wall Street and us into this mess -- that we followed too religiously the gospel of Robert Taft and Russell Kirk? 'Government must save us!' cries the left, as ever. Yet, who got us into this mess if not the government -- the Fed with its easy money, Bush with his profligate spending, and Congress and the SEC by liberating Wall Street and failing to step in and stop the drunken orgy?

For years, we Americans have spent more than we earned. We save nothing. Credit card debt, consumer debt, auto debt, mortgage debt, corporate debt -- all are at record levels. And with pensions and savings being wiped out, much of that debt will never be repaid. Our standard of living is inevitably going to fall. For foreigners will not forever buy our bonds or lend us more money if they rightly fear that they will be paid back, if at all, in cheaper dollars. We are going to have to learn to live again within our means. THE PARTY'S OVER!
Up through World War II, we followed the Hamiltonian idea that America must remain economically independent of the world in order to remain politically independent.
But this generation decided that was yesterday's bromide and we must march bravely forward into a Global Economy, where we all depend on one another.

American companies morphed into 'Global Companies' and moved plants and factories to Mexico, Asia, China , and India, and we began buying more cheaply from abroad what we used to make at home: shoes, clothes, bikes, cars, radios, TVs, planes, computers. As the trade deficits began inexorably to rise to 6 percent of GDP, we began vast borrowing from abroad to continue buying from abroad.

At home, propelled by tax cuts, war in Iraq and an explosion in social spending, surpluses vanished and deficits reappeared and began to rise. The dollar began to sink, and gold began to soar. Yet, still, the promises of the politicians come.

Barack Obama will give us national health insurance and tax cuts for all but that 2 percent of the nation that already carries 50 percent of the federal income tax load. John McCain is going to cut taxes, expand the military, move NATO into Georgia and Ukraine, confront Russia and force Iran to stop enriching uranium or 'bomb, bomb,' with Joe Lieberman as wartime consigliore. Who are we kidding? What we are witnessing today is how empires end. The Last Superpower is unable to defend its borders, protect its currency, win its wars, or balance its budget. Medicare and Social Security are headed for the cliff with unfunded liabilities in the tens of trillions of dollars.
What we are witnessing today is nothing less than a Katrina-like failure of government, of our political class, and of democracy itself, casting a cloud over the viability and longevity of the system.

Notice who is managing the crisis. Not our elected leaders. Nancy Pelosi says she had nothing to do with it.
Congress is paralyzed and heading home. President Bush is nowhere to be seen.

Hank Paulson of Goldman Sachs and Ben Bernanke of the Fed chose to bail out Bear Sterns but let Lehman go under. They decided to nationalize Fannie and Freddie at a cost to taxpayers of hundreds of billions, putting the U. S. government behind $5 trillion in mortgages.
They decided to buy AIG with $85 billion rather than see the insurance giant sink beneath the waves. Unelected financial elite is now entrusted with the assignment of getting us out of a disaster into which an unelected financial elite plunged the nation.

We are just spectators. What the Greatest Generation handed down to us -- the richest, most powerful, most self-sufficient republic in history, with the highest standard of living any nation had ever achieved -- the baby boomers, oblivious and self-indulgent to the end, have frittered away.

How do WE THE PEOPLE put the villains who are responsible under oath and sit them down at public hearings to determine whose necks should meet the guillotine?
Hypocritically, those who had oversight responsibility such as Senator Chris Dodd [Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee] and Barney Frank [Chairmen, House Financial Services Committee] who helped get us into this mess are on every TV channel voicing their righteous indignation and pompously sitting on their elevated platform glaring down at those they are chastising and grilling, trying to pass the blame to others.WE THE PEOPLE should be on the elevated platform in judgment and execution of the likes of Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and the rest of the band of thieves and conspirators who are responsible for the financial collapse of the USA.

SPACEPORT AMERICA COULD COST COUNTY JOBS

RUMOR MILL:  I was talking with a friend today who gave me some disturbing information.  He had visited with a man who had recently retired from White Sands Missile Range.  My friend related to me what his retired friend had told him. The retiree said  that contractors and customers who come to WSMR to test their products spend millions of dollars on a one day test of a missile or missile related project.  Any time delays on the project day, not associated with weather and attributable to military personnel at WSMR are charged to the military.  Delay costs can range as high as a million dollars a minute.  He went on to reveal an ongoing disagreement WSMR and Holloman AFB are having with the New Mexico Spaceport Authority.  According to my friend, who prefers to remain anonymous; the New Mexico Spaceport authority refuses to cooperate with scheduling of missile testing, F-22 Raptor training, and testing of a new Predator drone craft at Holloman and WSMR.  Preliminary discussions of use of limited air space, military priority and national security with the New Mexico Space Authority have resulted in a stalemate.  NMSA arrogantly claims they will launch the Virgin Galatic Mothership whenever they want and in an easterly direction. The logic of the Spaceport America people on the NMSA board is, customers are paying $200,000 for a ride in the Virgin Galatic craft.  Customers will be treated to first class accommodations and be treated like royalty.  This will be New Mexico's premier tourist attraction with world reknown praise and publicity.  Spaceport America essentially is saying they will not make the 'uber-rich' wait on military testing at WSMR or on Holloman AFB.  

Both WSMR and Holloman have rigid restrictions on airspace in the Tularosa Basin.  If the Virgin Galatic Mothership strays into WSMR airspace, or even worse into Holloman and F-22 airspace; missile tests and training flights will have to be postponed or interrupted.  This is where the possibility of the military paying a million dollars a minute 'fine' for delays in contractor testing of new military programs.

My friend told me that if military contractors feel their testing capacity at WSMR is threatened by an oppulent commercial 'space joy ride', they would take their products and business elsewhere.  This would translate into lost jobs for civilian workers at WSMR.  He also told me there is a real feeling of resentment agaisnt the Spaceport America radio and prints ads for claiming to be  part of the history of NASA and WSMR and the contributions of the space program to American culture and technology.  ORF did not call WSMR to try to confirm this information.  As we have posted at the beginning of this post, this qualifies for RUMOR MILL status.  But, it sound plausible considering the misinformation and the source of the conception of Spaceport America and the three counties asked to fund the project.

Claiborne, aired a much longer audio soundbite from Obama."

"Spending the Economy Into Oblivion"

With news this week that Congress is poised to consider a new stimulus package, I am forced to again ask a question that seems silly in Washington: How will we pay for this?

While a few Members of Congress have raised the issue, it certainly was not the primary concern of the House Budget Committee when they interviewed Ben Bernanke on Monday. And, when they did direct this question to the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, his answer was the standard rhetoric about how Congress needed to make tough choices. Needless to say, not many specifics were discussed.

One of the most liberal members of the House, Barney Frank, has at least volunteered something of a suggestion: “We can let Iraq take care of itself.” This, of course, goes in the right direction, but hardly far enough.

We need to declare the facts and their obvious consequences. The deficit of the United States is now spiraling out of control, and the recent bailout package has only made it worse. Our crushing federal debt is one key reason behind our current economic turbulence.

As Congress begins to consider the third “stimulus package” of the year, we need to realize it is time to start setting priorities. Priority number one should be cutting spending in foreign countries. This does not simply mean Iraq, but everywhere.

The next stimulus package is likely to include money for infrastructure. While these investments are, constitutionally speaking, supposed to be made by state and local governments, it is not likely that Congress will suddenly begin to pay heed to the document we are all sworn to uphold. Still, we need to acknowledge the fact that the current Congress and Administration are rushing the nation toward bankruptcy.

This being the case, we could hope they would at least come to their senses regarding our debt and foreign spending sprees. Our nation’s foreign-held debt is at record highs and moving ever higher. Continuing to borrow money from Red China and others in order to pay “dues” to the United Nations and run “Plan Colombia” makes no sense at all.

Our whole carrot-and-stick approach to foreign policy makes no sense. The US government simultaneously gives money to Israel, and to Egypt. We send AIDS money to Africa while AIDS clinics in America shut down. “Millennium challenge” funding goes to countries which enact “market based reforms” as we push our own country further and further into a centrally planned economy.

Economic recovery will only come through financial prudence, savings and getting back to producing things of value again. But it seems to be a foregone conclusion that we are about to enact another government initiative to “stimulate the economy.” Instead, there should be some serious talk about cutting all of these foreign giveaway programs. But, alas and again, we should not hold our breath. Congress is still not close to being serious about ending its addiction to debt and spending, and is again faced with the deadly temptation to attempt to spend us out of a recession. We should not forget that in the 1930’s those types of efforts gave us the Great Depression. http://www.house.gov/paul/
