On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a
two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would
require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new
government-run health plan. It took me less than a minute to sign up
to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!
Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana !
Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an
amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same
healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are
curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and
sign his petition (very simple - just first, last and email). I have
immediately done just that at:

Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!
If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should

ORF OPINION PIECE:

Main Stream Media intellectuals have diagnosed Army psychiatrist Major Nidal Hasan as suffering from PTSD like symptoms from just hearing of the horrors of war other soldiers experienced in combat. Hasan never served in combat. The MSM has skewed the definition of PTSD to explain ,in empathetic terms, the underlying reasons Hasan murdered 13 American soldiers at Ft. Hood, and wounded several others.

The National Institute of Mental Health defines PTSD as:

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, is an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. Traumatic events that may trigger PTSD include violent personal assaults, natural or human-caused disasters, accidents, or military combat.

If we are to believe the MSM's assertion that Hasan was so terrified by the description of combat related experiences he heard from soldiers he counseled, then we have allowed the MSM to create a new anxiety disorder. The MSM is using this poorly explained convenient obstructionist view of Hasan's actions in an act of avoidance to connect a lone Islamic terrorist and murderer to the teachings of the Koran.

If the MSM has identified a new dynamic to PTSD brought on by simply hearing about violence, then ORF asks is not the billion dollar media industry around the world that exploits gratuitous violence on film, TV and in video games also culpable of inciting individuals to violence after simply viewing a violent flim or playing a violent video game?

In the spirit of liberal and communist political correctness, shouldn't the liberal political machine demand an end to all violence in Hollywood productions, MSM prime time TV shows and in video games?

First a laugh, then a cry.

A cowboy from Texas attends a social function where Barack Obama is trying

to gather more support for his Health Plan. Once he discovers the cowboy is
from President Bush's home area, he starts to belittle him by talking in a
southern drawl and single syllable words. As he was doing that, he kept
swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head.

The cowboy says, "Y'all havin' some problem with them circle flies?" Obama
stopped talking and said, "Well, yes, if that's what they're called, but
I've never heard of circle flies."

"Well Sir," the cowboy replies, "circle flies hang around ranches. They're
called circle flies because they're almost always found circling around the
back end of a horse."

"Oh," Obama replies as he goes back to rambling. But, a moment later he
stops and bluntly asks, "Are you calling me a horse's ass?"

Pelosi: “Are you serious? Are you serious?”

Pelosi avoided answering the question, probably because she doesn’t have an answer. Her spokesman said that it was “not a serious question,” but if so, one would presume that Pelosi or her office could provide an easily-corroborated answer. After all, the Constitution is where Congress derives all of its authority. It’s not exactly a lengthy document. How difficult is it to cite the clause that enables Congress to impose a mandate on its citizens to spend money on anything but a tax?

Well, as it turns out, pretty darned difficult. The interstate commerce clause doesn’t apply because Congress doesn’t allow for interstate commerce in health insurance. The “general welfare” clause has never applied to individual mandates, which is why neither Leahy or Pelosi will invoke it publicly. If they trot that out in front of the Supreme Court, they’ll essentially be arguing that the federal government has the authority to impose any kind of mandates at any time on anyone in the country, which makes the limitations of power in the Constitution meaningless — and by extension, makes the Supreme Court meaningless as well. Good luck getting them to buy into that policy."

This is a very sad story about a bear. Everybody should heed the warning to not feed wildlife because they become dependent and cannot forage for themselves anymore.
It is such a tragedy to see what this has done to our country's wildlife!

The photo captures a disturbing trend that is beginning to affect US wildlife . .

Animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of belonging to the Democrat Party..... as they have apparently learned to just sit and wait for the government to step in and provide for their care and sustenance.

Free Cell Phones, Free Air Time, No Joke

I had a former employee call me earlier today inquiring about a job, and at the end of the conversation he gave me his phone number. I asked the former employee if this was a new cell phone number and he told me yes this was his “Obama phone.” I asked him what an “Obama phone” was and he went on to say that welfare recipients are now eligible to receive (1) a FREE new phone and (2) approx 70 minutes of FREE minutes every month. I was a little skeptical so I Googled it and low and behold he was telling the truth. TAX PAYER MONEY IS BEING REDISTRIBUTED TO WELFARE RECIPIENTS FOR FREE CELL PHONES. This program was started earlier this year. Enough is enough, the ship is sinking and it’s sinking fast. The very foundations that this country was built on are being shaken. Two County Commissioners are on board for tax abatements

Commissioner Clarissa McGinn continues to stand steadfast on the side of fiscal conservatism. Her constituents should be proud.

Tax abatements, in my opinion, are bailouts on the front end and just a mutation of economic development scams.

At the last regular meeting of the Otero Commission, I address the three commissioners and proferred a letter with an attachment in the form of a commentary by Greg LeRoy, economist and author of The Great American Jobs Scam. I read the letter for the record at the meeting. It can be viewed at http://www.everythingalamogordo.com/ at the past events button, October 15 Otero Commission Meeting. I told the commissioners if they vote for a tax abatement, they are (paraphrased):

(1) Stepping onto the slippery slope of who qualifies, who does not.

(2) Voting for something detrimental to Otero County.

(3) Tax abatements singularly amount to a hill of beans. Collectively, they are big bucks.

(4) Tax abatements and economic development schemes are not fiscally conservative and therefore, not the will of their constituents.

I welcome any debate on this topic. Tell me how I, and noted economists that I read, are wrong. By the way, this issue is nonpartisan in practice. Think I'll go back and read the Republican Party Platform.......

From the time of the Roman Empire, through Med Evil times, to Stalin, Hitler and the American comlib left, pandemics have been used to frighten and divide populations. Historical rulers, fearing a power grab from emerging political and economic growth in oppressed populations have targeted those populations with rumors or myths or even contaminating entire regions with disease. The current fear of H1N1 may be designed to isolate Americans from one another, to spread fear and paranoia among the population, to maybe great a boogie man population in an attempt to create a division among Americans based on who has the SWINE FLU (H1N1). Such a division, however it manifests itself, would motivate a conniving group of federal officials to orchestrate a rescue, solution, mandated compliance or feeding the myth that one minority population poses a threat to the majority population. Could this be happening in the United States in regards to the H1N1 flu pandemic?

HELLO!!!! Has anyone sounded the alarm on diseases coming across the border in the bodies of illegal immigrants on the level this H1N1 flu hysteria has been hammered on in the media and by the present group of federal fear mongers?

Bernanke, Geithner, Paulson and both administrations seem to believe that because The Dollar is the world's reserve and trading currency that they can ignore these lessons of history and get away with it.

I'm skeptical, for the simple reason that if you look at the issue in terms of what people are doing, as opposed to saying, they are all moving out of dollars and into other things. The dollar's reserve currency status isn't a function of The US "military might" (until and unless The US is willing to start flinging nuclear warheads around, which I more than somewhat doubt) it is a function of the US maintaining sustainable monetary and fiscal policies.

Again, for the mathematically-challenged, consider the following story.

Many years ago there lived a monarch in India who ruled that all of the people must store their 90% of their rice harvests with him for safekeeping, so in the event of famine there would be enough rice to eat.

One year a famine hit but he refused to release the stored rice, fearing that he would run out and starve himself.

After a couple of months a clever girl came to the monarch and asked for one grain of rice, and for the next month to double it each day.

Notice that on the 29th day the girl was due more rice than had been paid to her in all of the previous 28 days. This is also true for each day in the series - a fact that you need to think about for however long it takes to sink in.

This is the fundamental truth of all exponential (or "power") functions. It is a mathematical truth, not a theory or possibility...."

The unspoken crux of the issue, so common to the duplicitous nature of the Obama administration, is: regarding H1N1 flu shots and the implied threat from the fedgov that Americans must get this particular shot, is....how does this 'president' justify the fedgov exercising jurisdiction over the bodies of Americans by demanding Citizens get the H1N1(Swine Flu) vaccination, yet abortion is a right of women in the U.S?
